Catscratch Wiki

Go Gomez! Go! is the second segment of the second episode of Catscratch.

The cats challenge the Chumpy Chumps to a race.

The Cats and The Chumpy Chumps place a wager on their upcoming race at the BakersField Speedway: their house against the Chumps' house. The reality of their bet soon settles in as Gordon puts their words "Our house and everything in it" into perspective. If that wasn't bad enough, the race's height restrictions banned Mr. Blik and Gordon from driving in the race. This leaves the tallest of the cats on the wheel, Waffle (with his lucky newt Gomez!)

  • Bakersfield was mentioned in a piece of concept art, but may also be the name of the area the cats and their neighbors all live in.
  • The Catscratch web-game "Cats Me If You Can!" was based on this episode. However, in the game version on all three levels, The Chumpy Chumps each race separates in their own cars, Brick however drove the same one that appeared in this episode, Mr. Blik was allowed to drive.
  • The German variation of this episode's title card is simply a shot of the near end of this episode where Gordon and Mr. Blik watch as Waffle gleefully jumps off-screen towards the car, with the title added.
  • This episode re-aired on Nicktoons during the Holidays of 2015.

  • This episode marks Gomez's first, and to date, only appearance.
  • This episode marks the first appearance of The Chumpy Chump Brothers.
  • Tad is shown wearing Pinky Bear underwear again in Two of a Kind.
  • Despite losing their house in this episode, they still remain neighbors of the cats in later episodes.
  • While Waffle imagines himself riding in gear, he pretends to crash in a chocolate factory, which later on in the next episode reveals Gordon to be allergic to chocolate.

  • Tad's name is misspelled as "Tadd" in the ending credits.
